The owner and founder, Bryan Murray has been involved in Home improvement for over 15 years and made his start in the wooden boat industry working for companies such as Cutts and Case Wooden Shipyard in Oxford, MD who are globally known for some of the most prestigious wooden yachts on the planet; and Yacht Maintenance and Restora tion in Annapolis, MD who specialized in the restoration of antique and classic watercraft. This experience in wooden boatbuilding and restoration has given Bryan not only experience, but a keen eye for perfection not easily found in many other industries. This eye for perfection is reflected in each and every project. Interesting enough, the most common problem we hear in the industry is the lack of communication between a contractor and the homeowner. Whether it is regarding scheduling, follow up calls, choices of materials or hidden costs, usually it will boil down to communication. Chesapeake Deck and Home prides itself on communication with the homeowner establishing a trust relationship that you can feel confident throughout the entire duration of your project. From start to finish, you will sit down with a representative from the company to discuss all options and choices, including what is most important to you, as well as recommendations by our qualified staff. You will receive your estimate within the time frame promised by the salesman. We will call you to confirm the day and time we will start. Each day we try to give you a summary of the work done and what is to be expected in the next day, week or month to follow.. Throughout the project you will be informed of any issues that may arise, whereas some contractors attempt to hide or ignore these issues out of fear of holding up the project. As we near completion, you will be informed of proper maintenance necessary and when a follow up visit should be expected. After completion, we are always just a phone call away in the event there is a question or concern. Basically put, we do what we say!
“A Budget You Can Afford”
There is no doubt that the cost of the project is the second most important aspect when choosing a contractor. Chesapeake Deck and Home provides estimates based on carefully thought out materials and labor whereas other home improvement companies will base their price on flat sq footage pricing or industry accepted costs. This means that you can have confidence that the price you pay will reflect the honest work performed and not some ridiculous price that indicates a week's worth of labor done in one day. Chesapeake Deck and Home keeps overhead to a minimum so there are not additional costs in the estimate to cover a lot of the expenses other larger companies must incur. We also do not believe in escalation clauses where the cost of the project can be expanded by percentage as more supposed work is performed outside the contract. With every project, if an undeterminable issue is uncovered that is necessary to be addressed, you will be provided with options and written estimates so that you know what you're getting into before the work is performed. There is also no doubt that you get what you pay for! We don't claim to always be the cheapest guy in town (we've all seen the work those guys do!), However we do guarantee that pound for pound you will not find another licensed and insured, not to mention honest and trustworthy, contractor who will provide the same level of quality and craftsmanship for the price!
